Plateau Cedar Baskets!
Summary
Five centuries ago the indigeneous people in this area needed storage space. What to do? What to do? Why make waterproof Baskets, of course!!!! We stored food and other belongings. My favorite food to pick and store is Huckleberries.

As I sat in the 12th Annual Northwest Native American Basketry Conference, I heard a guest wonder aloud, "Why do these things cost so much?!?!"
Well (wo)Man Hours. Each basket can take up to One hundred hours. That's just a quartsize basket to hold your huckleberries in.

My Auntie Bernadine is my teacher. She taught me at the ripe old age of 24. My grandteacher is my Auntie Elaine.
